Then you're in the right place.
Because today I'm going to show the Evernote templates and processes I use to skyrocket my productivity and get things done.
Let's do this!
Here is what we'll go through in this post:
- Organize your promotion efforts with Evernote marketing templates
- Manage your sales funnel with Evernote sales templates
- Keep track of expenses with Evernote finance templates
- Set and execute business goals with Evernote planning templates
1. Evernote marketing templates to organize your promotion efforts
The majority of my day deals with marketing to attract small businesses. With a gazillion things on my plate, I must look at the big picture and prioritize what to work on next.
Here are my go-to templates to keep track and not lose the remaining three strands of hair I have left.
Marketing Personas
The key to marketing success is understanding your customers. What is the best way to empathize with them? You guessed it -- create a persona.
Marketing personas help you:
- Identify needs and wants.
- Develop a common language with your target audience.
- Provide behavioral insight.
- Create targeted content that they will WANT to engage with.
Here are some example persona templates that we've used:
Some people check Facebook when they wake up. I read my customer personas. I've always been weird like that.
This Evernote template helps me iron out who my customers are, their interests, and how we can help them.
Marketing Plan Template
Unless you're conscious about your marketing goals, you're throwing things against the wall to see what sticks.
That's almost like playing the lottery.
Successful marketers create a detailed plan that outlines:
- Market research
- Target market
- Positioning
- Competitive analysis
- Budget
- Metrics
This Evernote template lets you do a SWOT analysis and lay out your marketing goals. Get on it!
Blog Post Template
Inbound marketing is my addiction. Creating high-quality content that benefits my audience is the primary way I get a flood of customers.
The process of creating a great post has many steps:
- Step 1: Keyword research
- Step 2: Organize facts and sources
- Step 3: Create an outline
- Step 4: Nail down the headline
- Step 5: Write the actual post
- Step 6: Edit it
- Step 7: Create and add media (photos, videos, screenshots)
- Step 8: Final review
This Evernote blog post template not only allows me to write the content, but keep all the research, sources, and media organized.
2. Evernote sales templates to manage your sales funnel
You got your marketing knocked out of the ballpark and prospects are banging on your door. Now what?
You must be able to find and track them.
You could get a full-blown CRM like Salesforce. But if you don't like to manage 50 different tools on a daily basis, Evernote can help.
Granted Evernote doesn't have all the sophisticated workflows and tools you get with Salesforce, it can get the job done for a solo entrepreneur.
Sales Contacts Template
You want to take detailed notes when you interact with a sales prospect. It's easy to forget what a prospect said on a call.
That's where this template shines.
Here are some items you should log:
- Source: where this lead came from
- Call notes: things of importance that came up
- Next steps: what you need to do or waiting for
- Status: where the prospect is in the funnel
- Metrics: what success looks like the prospect and ROI
Work Order Template
Your sales prospects are turning into customers. Whoopidy smack, rickidy hop! Peanut butter jelly time! 🎉
Okay. With that chest thumping out of our system, now it's time to track the ongoing work.
Use this template to record deliverables, due dates, pricing. The works.
Here is what you should consider logging:
- Project details
- Client details
- Company details
3. Evernote finance templates to keep track of expenses
Keeping track of expenses is as interesting as watching your clothes tumble in the dryer. Unless you're into that kind of thing.
Luckily, you can save time with these templates and get back to real work.
Pro tip: Before you go down this rabbit hole, talk to your accountant or financial advisor to see if they have any document retention guidelines.
Expense Tracker Template
Use this template to keep track of expenses you incur. You can use this as a central location to stay on top of reimbursements. I recommend creating one note for each reimbursable expense for simplicity.
Project Budget Template
To keep your projects within budget and well documented, use this budgeting template. It's broken down into three main areas:
- Details: project and financial information
- Tracking: project-related expenses
- Closure: tally up amounts and review the final figures
4. Evernote planning templates to set and execute business goals
Everything that is measured, improves. Creating a proper plan gives you the long-term vision and short-term motivation to execute.
In the day-to-day of things, it's easy to lose track of your core vision. By creating a clear plan, you can revisit it to maintain focus.
Take a day to create a plan for a 5-year vision. Where do you want to be 5 years from now?
Then break it down into year goals.
Take this year's goals and further drill down into monthly goals.
Pro tip: Looking at your grand plan, create a list of daily habits. Things you should do on a daily basis that will help you execute. Meditation is one of those items on my own list.
Yearly Goals Template
Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) is a framework for defining and tracking outcomes. It's used by companies like Google, Uber, and LinkedIn.
OKRs are set, tracked, and re-evaluated both yearly and quarterly. This template will help ensure you're doing in the right direction -- with clear priorities.
Quarterly Goals Template
With the year plan set, you want to create smaller milestones to stay focused. Seeing what you need to do for the next few months gives you better execution capabilities.
Use this template to plan and track your quarterly goals. The highlighter tool shows your progress on the status bar.
Conclusion
Evernote as like an engine that helps keep your world running. When you look under the hood, there is a lot of tools that aren't apparent at first glance. These templates are one of them.
